The 0.5% withdrawal fee was originally designed as a safety mechanism, but that’s could also make users do more maths to arrive at their final Gro returns. We plan to introduce price oracles to remove this need. However the stability from the fee and the additional yield to long term holders arguably make this a feature not a bug.
